Review: Bad Things by R.K.Lilley

Title: Bad Things (Tristan & Danika #1)
Author: R.K.Lilley
Synopsis:Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier. One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given. She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine? For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating. Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air series.

Review:
I went to the Romance Authors & Readers Event signing in Edinburgh 3 weeks ago ready to meet and discover new authors. And that´s what I did with R.K.Lilley. I heard about her before going to the signing but never had the chance to read one of her books, so when she offered me a free signed copy of Bad Things for my blog to do some giveaways I was thrilled! But before giving it away I had to read it, so here are my thoughts.

Bad Things starts with a very catching and out of the ordinary beginning, I am not really a fan of insta love so I was relieved to discover this book was instead based on attraction rather than love. I loved how Tristan and Danika started their friendship and seeing how it evolved in something more.
The story line is unexpected and I enjoyed the novelty of the characters, story and setting though in the end I had to give it a 4/5 because I kind of got tired of Tristan´s alpha male behaviour.
Bad Things was an intense an emotional rollercoaster full of unexpected twists and a whole lot of sexual tension. I loved Danika, she is strong, sassy, smart and a refreshing  character. On the other hand, Tristan is what you may call trouble, he likes to party, he is the lead singer in a rock band and a club promoter in Vegas.

I will definitely read the next books in the series to discover what happens with Tristan and Danika, one of the most explosives and mad for each other couples I´ve ever read.
