RUNAWAY GROOM
I Do, I Don't - Book 2
Lauren Layne
Releasing Jan 30, 2018
Loveswept

For one charming playboy, getting cast on a Bachelor-esque reality TV show is the shock of a lifetime—until he finds love where he least expects it.

Gage Barrett’s reputation as a ladies’ man has been greatly exaggerated, but none of that matters after a drunken bet lands him on Jilted, a reality TV show that matches runaway grooms with wannabe brides. Now he’s stuck at a Hawaiian resort with nineteen women competing to drag him back to the altar—and one contestant who’s even more miserable than he is. Gage has no idea how feisty, independent Ellie Wright wound up in the cast, but it’s obvious she hates his guts. And if there’s one thing Gage likes, it’s a challenge. . . .

Ellie can’t believe she let her best friend talk her into exchanging her dignity for a glorified bikini contest. Still, she could use the exposure—her business is struggling—and she’ll probably be one of the first to get eliminated anyway. But Gage isn’t the shallow jerk Ellie anticipated—and he’s in no rush to send her home. As stolen kisses turn into secret trysts, she finds herself losing track of what’s real and what’s for the camera. With the wedding finale looming, this runaway groom is tempting Ellie to start believing in storybook endings.

REVIEW
OMG OMG OMG! This book was perfect!
It gave me all the feels <3 <3

Lauren Layne once again hits the jackpot with “Runaway Groom”.
Just think that I read the book in 3 hours, and instead of studying I just lost myself completely in the story of Ellie and Gage <3

First of all, I need to say that I loved both Gage and Ellie. They were perfectly described, at 360°. They were two person with quite different life goals and life styles, but when your true love call, what do you have to do? Accept it, find a solution and live happily ever after.

The concept behind this book was great, really interesting and so much fun to read! Ellie is one of the 20 contestant in this reality show, where the goal is to capture the attention of Gage (the runaway groom) and bring him to the altar.
For sure Ellie wasn’t keen on playing the part, meaning that she had no intention to stay on the show, but only wanted to get home!
But for one reason or another, she was forced to stay and play along….

I loved Ellie and Gage as a couple from the first time they met, and fell in love more and more reading about their stolen and forbidden meetings and stolen looks.
The attraction between them grew day by day, and the way the story ended was perfect.

The parts about the ceremony days and the following messages were hilarious and awesome! I had so much fun reading them:P And even more the last exchanges between Ellie and Gage… top!

And last but not least, OMG, the other contestants were out of the world crazy! Well, except for Paisley and Brooklyn, but the others! The perfect women to make a reality show interesting!

So yeah, we can say that I loved this book. Lauren Layne has a writing style that just catches my attention and keep it until I finish the book. I think she could make even a grocery store list interesting for me :P

I’m kidding, but yes, everyone, read this book, and fall in love with Ellie, Gage and the amazing Lauren Layne.

Synopsis:

If anyone asks, I knew better than to flash my boobs for Mardi Gras beads.

I still don’t know why I did it.

Maybe it was the dare from my two best friends.

Maybe it was the guys on the balcony saying they’d throw Fireball shots with the beads.

Or maybe it was the quiet guy in the corner of that same balcony with piercing gray eyes, wavy dark hair, and a smile so tempting I wanted to climb up there and lick it off his face.

Maybe it was because I never thought I’d see them again.

Not that it matters. Not today.

Because the hotel I manage was finally bought—and the guy who walks in and introduces himself as my new boss is Mr. Tall, Dark, and Silent.

There are many upsides to being single.

Your new boss knowing what your boobs look like?

Not one of them.

Excerpt:

“I just—I don’t get it.” I threw myself onto the sofa and almost sent the box of donuts flying onto the floor.

Thankfully, Peyton was quicker than the box. She grabbed it and sat back, hugging it to herself. “First, watch the donuts. I got the last two pink sprinkles, and I’m partial to them.” She stroked the top of the box. “Second, what don’t you get? How he doesn’t care about your boobs? I don’t care about them either.”

“You’re not supposed to care about my boobs. You’re a woman, for a start.”

“I care about your boobs,” Chloe interrupted, tucking her blond hair behind her ear. “I think you have great boobs. Bra or no bra.”

“Usually no bra,” Peyton added.

“I’m not afraid to throw something at you,” I warned her. “This is awkward.”

“Ugh! Get over yourself, Melanie!” Peyton snapped her fingers. “You are a grown woman. He is a grown man. He saw your tits. So what? Steven Lawrence saw your tits five times in junior year.”

I snatched a donut from the box. Don’t tell my hips. “We were dating! It’s entirely different!”

Chloe delicately picked up a white-iced donut before saying, “She’s right. It is different, Peyt. They were dating, and Jacob is her boss. You can’t expect her to just get over that. It is partly your fault.”

“It’s just as much your fault,” Peyton reminded her, then looked at me and nodded toward Chloe. “Drunky smurf over here shook her Tic-Tacs like she was in front of a bachelor party leaving a curry house.”

I choked on my laughter. “That’s not the point. You got us drunk. It’s almost entirely your fault.”

“Look, sunshine,” she said, tearing a bite of donut off the ring so her words were muffled. “I didn’t grab your shirt and whip it up like a two-dollar hooker on overtime. You did that, so grow a pair and take responsibility for your actions.”

“You sound like you don’t want to take responsibility for yours.”

“Hey. You’re big girls. You can refuse cocktails.”

Chloe and I shared a glance. “Refuse cocktails?” she said. “I don’t understand.”

“You have us mixed up with your other friends,” I continued. “But, wait. You don’t have other friends.”

“I have plenty of friends,” Peyt said.

“Friends without penises. Or benefits.”

She paused. “We’re not talking about me. We’re talking about your hot boss who knows what your tits look like.”

“You’re not helping.”

“I’m not trying to help. I’m trying to slap your size-eight ass into reality, you idiot.”

“Slap mine into reality and I’m putting yours on a catapult. Right into the middle of the gulf.” I tore my donut in two and gave her boobs a pointed look. “I always wondered if silicone would float.”

Blog Tour + Review: Sky's The Limit by Elle Aycart

Tired of waiting for her big break in the fashion industry, Sky Gonzalez, eternal part-time student and overworked retail drone, quits her job, sublets her New York apartment, and embarks on a semester abroad study program in Paris. Paris! Time to throw caution to the winds and jump-start her dreams. What’s the worst that could happen?

How about getting sent to the wrong Paris? As in Paris-frigging-Minnesota?

Bye-bye career dreams. Bye-bye glamour and haute couture. Hello flannel shirts, mind-numbing cold, zero bars on the cell phone, and socially challenged mountain men with tons of unruly facial hair.

So yeah, let the truck barreling her way hit her, please. Less painful.

Logan should have dodged the little lost waif and kept on driving. Who in their right mind walked in the middle of the road, dressed in white from head to high heels, during a snowstorm? Clueless city girls, that's who. Sky is all that Logan has gladly left behind: stylish, cosmopolitan, and a massive pain in the butt. He wouldn’t trade a single day in his quirky little corner of the woods for all the high-maintenance beauties the city can offer.

Too bad this beauty has been deemed a health hazard and quarantined in his house. Damn his doomsday-prepper neighbors and their paranoid emergency protocols. Now he has to keep Sky in and the pandemic squad out until the roads are clear. The question is, will that happen before or after Sky realizes she's under house arrest?

Ah, the best-laid plans...

Logan addressed the pandemic squad up on the platform. “Sorry to break it to you. This is a free country. You can’t go quarantining people at will.”
“Wrong. Exactly because this is a free country, we can.”
There were some mumbles of agreement from the crowd, “That’s right” and “You got it” and “Try to stop us.”
“We live in a democracy. Let’s take a vote,” Carol suggested. “All in favor of quarantining Patient Zero, please raise your hands.”
Everyone, including a smirking Ty, raised their hands.
“Oh, come on,” Logan grumbled. “Really? You serious?”
“Motion accepted,” Carol said, wrestling the gavel from the mayor and banging it on the podium. “Besides, Patient Zero doesn’t have to know she’s been quarantined. Just keep her indoors by any means necessary until she gets better.”
“Or she kicks the bucket,” somebody chimed in.
Nuts. The whole bunch of them. Down to the very last one.
“She’s not Patient Zero, people. Her name is Sky and she’s got the flu, damn it. Not Ebola. Just a common, garden-variety flu.”
“By our calculations, Patient Zero has been here almost twenty-four hours. We’re late on containment,” Carol said.
Logan shook his head in dismay. Man, like talking to a wall.
“You had her hidden away for a whole day?” Ty asked impishly.
“She was just sleeping on my sofa.” Logan realized his mistake right away and turned to Carol and the rest. “You are not burning my sofa. Are we clear?”
Whether it was clear or not, Logan didn’t know, because Carol ignored his words. “And we’ll be monitoring you,” she added while the rest nodded. “At the slightest indication you’re sick—”
“Yeah, yeah, you’ll quarantine me too, and if I don’t get better fast enough, you’ll shoot me and cremate my remains.” Along with the damn couch, of course.
Carol rolled her eyes. “Don’t be silly.”
“Yeah, don’t be silly,” someone interjected. “We’ll autopsy you before that. Dissect you into tiny pieces.”
Jesus fucking Christ. Why couldn’t his neighbors have been the gearheads prepping for solar flares that would fry the grid? More kumbaya. Less ready to dissect.
“This is all your fault, Megan,” he said to his sister, who was sitting two rows behind him. “Couldn’t you have moved somewhere else? A normal fucking place?”
She just laughed. “You heard the lady. Keep Patient Zero indoors—by any means necessary.”
“Ha. Ha.”
“What? Skills too rusty to keep a woman indoors?” she asked.
“I can help,” Ty added. “Is she pretty?”
Gorgeous, actually. Big, dark eyes. Olive-colored skin. Delicate features. But that was beside the point too.
“Fuck off, both of you,” Logan muttered. Raising his voice, he addressed the crowd again. “You’re certifiable. All of you.”
“I totally agree,” Carol said. “We give you far too much leeway. Look at how flexible we’ve been about your toxic contaminants.”

After a colorful array of jobs all over Europe ranging from translator to chocolatier to travel agent to sushi chef to flight dispatcher, Elle Aycart is certain of one thing and one thing only: aside from writing romances, she has abso-frigging-lutely no clue what she wants to do when she grows up. Not that it stops her from trying all sorts of crazy stuff. While she is probably now thinking of a new profession, her head never stops churning new plots for her romances. She lives currently in Barcelona, Spain, with her husband and two daughters, although who knows, in no time she could be living at the Arctic Circle in Finland, breeding reindeer.

Review
It has been a quite long time since I've read a book by Elle Aycart, but I'm happy I had the opportunity to read Sky's The Limit <3

First, the setting of this book. Omg, it was awesome! A Doomsday Preppers' town called NoName? Sign me up! I loved everything crazy that happened in that place, from the drills, to the bunkers, from the "best restaurant" in town, to the Bar summer opening 😍  So many strange happenings, but still awesome :P
I don't know if I would be able to live in a place like that, but it would be for sure an interesting life 😂

Returning to the main protagonists, Logan and Sky, well, they were soooo different but yet so perfect for each other! They came from such different backgrounds, lived such different lives, but they found the perfect companion in each other.

Logan’s past love life had not been easy (My gosh, Vivienne, such a b***). But he couldn’t resist Sky’s charm, who could have? I understood his reticence at trusting another woman, even more because Sky had so many similar tracts to his ex wife. But luckily for him, Sky ended up to be a totally different person.
Another thing that made me swoon was Logan behaviour with Arnie, Sky’s dog…. Ohhhhh, so much love for him <3

I really liked Sky, her kindness, especially her open-mindedness and acceptance towards NoName citizens. She also had quite an eventful life, absolutely not easy, but I admired her strength and determination in living every day at its fullest.

As I already mentioned, one thing that made this book such a pleasant read was the setting! I think I won’t easily forget NoName and its craziness! but I loved it :P

So yes, if you want to spend a few hours with some doomsday preppers, an awesome (even if a little strange) dog, and two great main characters, down’t wait anymore to dive into Sky’s the Limit!

Blog Tour, Review, Excerpt: Scoring Mr. Romeo (Finding Mr. Wrong #3) by A.M. Madden & Joanne Schwehm

SBPRBanner-SMR-BTTwo amazing new standalones are coming soon from A.M. Madden & Joanne Schwehm!

Title: Scoring Mr. Romeo
Authors: A.M. Madden & Joanne Shwehm
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 15th, 2018

Synopsis:

Here’s a tip: never underestimate romance.

Falling in love was the furthest thing from my mind. I’m a single mother raising a strong little boy, and he is my one and only priority.

The universe felt otherwise, sending me—actually, my son’s soccer ball—hurdling toward a stunningly handsome, perfect man, who said all the right things. He made it hard to ignore how much I missed romance.

In the past, when I met a man, they ran as soon as they heard I was a widow with a child. Not this guy. No, he fell in love with my son, and in turn my son fell in love with him. But, it was hard to believe he felt the same about me. My job was to be the strong one—to protect our hearts from sweet dreams that never lasted.

~~~
Women told me I was a master of romance. They were right. I knew how to sweep a woman off her feet, to make her feel special, and good in all the right places. I wasn’t a saint. I’ve had my share of one-night stands. They served their purpose, giving me a steady diet of romance without the hassle of commitment.
Then one day at the park, a soccer ball came careening toward my head, and my life changed in an instant. I never imagined that true love would come in the form of a five-year-old little boy. And then I got to know his mother: She was strong, independent, drop-dead gorgeous, and someone I desired - I just needed to prove it to her.
She called me Mr. Romeo, and that was fine with me.
Lesson learned: Love always trumps everything.
Excerpt:
Luca’s POV
Only an inch separated our mouths, but the cool air that replaced her warm lips had me going back for more. Wanting to feel them again, the second time I pressed harder. She parted just enough to convey she also wanted more.
My conscience nagged, forcing me to again break the connection and end the temptation. Her breath hitched when I added more distance, as if I removed her source of oxygen.
“I better go,” I whispered. The uncertainty in her eyes killed me. “Sabrina, I don’t want to… I need to.”
My Review:
A.M. Madden is one of my favorite authors and this series she is writing with Joanne Schwehm is so much fun. But to be honest, I think this one is my all time favorite from the series. There is just something about Luca that makes him irresistible. And the story line in itself is incredible. It is filled with romance, laughter, heartbreak, scorching hotness and an adorable little boy that will simply melt your heart.
While I was reading the first two books in the series, I've always thought that Luca and Cassie will end up together. So I was a little bit disappointed when the authors went into a different direction. But once I started reading Scoring Mr. Romeo, it was just so obvious that Sabrina and Luca are meant to be. Well, to be honest, my first thought was that it was Luca and Mikey who were meant to be :D It was obvious from there very first meet when Mikey left his green and blue handprints on Luca's khaki trousers framing his package beautifully :D And the second meet was even better but I will leave that for you to find out :D
The relationship between Luca and Sabrina is definitely not an easy one. Though Luca is a droolworthy dominant alpha ready to take charge when necessary and be the perfect romantic when the occasion calls for it, he still does mistakes from time to time. Unfortunately, those mistakes trigger Sabrina's insecurities as a single mother and a widow. Though she survived the heartache and betrayal, the scars left behind have not healed completely and that makes her question the possibility for a new beginning and a new HEA with one incredible man. which of course leads to more heartbreak. So be prepared.
As a whole, I really loved the story. Luca is definitely a BBF that I can dream about and Mikey is just so adorable :) And it doesn't hurt that Sabrina is a strong woman, trying to overcome her insecurities and fight her way to her HEA with the one man who makes her feel alive and loved. I think it is the best conclusion to the series. Though I hope the authors will tell the stories of the rest of the friends. My priority is definitely Cassie and Dante. I am pretty sure that one is going to be a blast :)
