Release Date: January 21st, 2015 (January 11th, 2015 on iTunes)
Synopsis:

The first book in a humorous contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Denise Grover Swank.

Megan Vandemeer meant to tell her parents about her broken engagement, but a month and a half later she finds herself boarding a plane home to her wedding. Having stretched avoidance to its limits, it's time to come clean--a terrifying prospect since her mother is sure to blame her rather than her cheating, emotionally frigid ex. A couple of drinks and two Dramamine later, Megan finds herself spilling her sob story to the tall, dark, and handsome stranger in the seat next to her.

With only one week left to save his business, Josh McMillan boards a plane to Kansas City in a last-ditch effort, leaving the details to chance. An unexpected answer is delivered in the form of the beautiful brunette beside him. Though she’s completely loopy, her honesty, openness, and humor charm him. So when she passes out before landing, he helps her off the plane--a good deed that leads to a colossal misunderstanding. Her parents assume he’s her fiancé. In a twist of fate, the mix-up might help Josh save his business, so he plays along, figuring he can help Megan too. All he has to do is stage a public break up convincing enough to appease her mother.

Josh is only supposed to be a substitute groom, but the more time he and Megan spend together, the more their pretend engagement starts to feel real…and the less they want to break it off. Can a relationship that began as a farce turn into happily ever after?

About the Author:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Denise Grover Swank was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in the area until she was nineteen. Then she became a nomadic gypsy, living in five cities, four states and ten houses over the course of ten years before she moved back to her roots. She speaks English and smattering of Spanish and Chinese which she learned through an intensive Nick Jr. immersion period. Her hobbies include witty Facebook comments (in own her mind) and dancing in her kitchen with her children. (Quite badly if you believe her offspring.) Hidden talents include the gift of justification and the ability to drink massive amounts of caffeine and still fall asleep within two minutes. Her lack of the sense of smell allows her to perform many unspeakable tasks. She has six children and hasn't lost her sanity. Or so she leads you to believe.

My Review:

That was probably one of the best romance books I've ever read :) It is definitely easy and fun to read but it also has really heartbreak that will bring tears to your eyes. I have to say that Denise Grover Swank is one of my favorite authors and I will read pretty much everything she writes. And this story definitely didn't disappoint. It is definitely different from her other series and here you won't find any mysteries or paranormal beings. But the book is still a page turner. The author masterfully details the antics of the main characters and simply makes you fall in love with them. At times the characters and the scenes felt so real that it was like I was there and was seeing everything with my own eyes :)

Both, Megan and Josh we such an amazing characters. Josh is an amazingly delicious and dominant alpha male but he is also tender and romantic. Although he hides most of that behind his job as an engineer. He is always series and he always needs a plan. He never does anything without a plan or at least and idea of a one. Well, that all changes when he sits next to a beautiful brunette who sparks something in him. And this time, when the future of his business depends on him, he leaves everything to faith and in the hands of the woman he starts to fall in love with :)

Megan on the other hand is a beautiful young woman who was hurt one too many times and is terrified of confessing to her mother that she caught her ex-fiancee cheating. And when faith gives the chance to prolong the confrontation a little bit longer in the face of the tall, dark and handsome stranger sitting next to her :)

Somehow, Megan and Josh fit perfectly and I immensely enjoyed reading how their feelings for each other develop :) Reading about their heartbreaks and the problems they experience on the way to their HEA make them that more real and interesting. All that was nicely peppered with the hilarious situations that were sprung on them from left and right :D

In a few words, I definitely recommend this book :) It will mostly make you smile but also shed a tear or two. I fell in love with all the characters and I can't wait to meet them again in the next book of the series :) Definitely a must read so don't wait and the moment the book comes live just #oneclick it ;)

I was given an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.
