Synopsis:

I want it all. Whips and chains. Hearts and kisses.

Viola was the first woman I ever tied up. We had one of those brief but intense summer romances.

OK, so I screwed that up. But now, years later, I've got a second chance.

The thing is, she doesn't trust me. I write novels about a brutal spymaster whose craving for blood and torture is insatiable. Hidden in my home is an authentic medieval dungeon. I'm a connoisseur of finely-wrought leather floggers, silken ropes, the restrictive corset, the binding cuff.

I don't mean to frighten her. But hey, I want it all. Whips and chains. Hearts and kisses. Mastery and submission, pleasure and pain. I'm looking for that special partner--somebody to torment, somebody to love.

The door to my dungeon is open. It is up to her to walk in.

The Dangerous Hero is a contemporary romance novel by USA Today bestselling author and Rita Award Winner, Linda Barlow.

The Dangerous Hero is the first book I read by Linda Barlow and I definitely loved it :) This for sure won't be the last book I read of hers. The story is intriguing and entertaining and the writing is superb. The characters are well developed and complex. They feel like real people and during the whole story I felt like I knew them.

The Dangerous Hero is  a story of second chances. I enjoyed reading how Stephan and Viola build a new relationship from the ashes of the past and overcome all the misunderstandings, heartache and demons left from the nine years of separation. Stephan is the ultimate bad boy with pantie melting looks and strong and dominant personality. I loved the contrast between the two sides of him: the tender and loving boyfriend and the dominant alpha male with a secret dungeon :) I loved his rough side but I also immensely enjoyed the he took care of Viola when she needed it the most.

Viola is a sweet and tender woman who had to go through hell because of her ex-husband. Even though on the outside she is strong and independent but she still carries the demons from her marriage and they haunt her at night. She needs a hero to come and save her and she finds that in Stephan. Even though he scares her from time to time he manages to show her that she can trust him and he will protect her no matter the price.

Both Viola and Stephan find in each other what they have been looking for - the love of their lives. Their journey to is peppered with funny and witty dialog at times, intense feelings and interactions between them and the temperature of the story is increased more than once with incredibly hot scenes that can leave you panting especially if you are a fan of BDSM :)
In a few words, the book is so good that in my opinion it is a must read :) The story is enchanting and entertaining with quite a few twists that will keep you on your toes :) And the hotness is just off the charts :) Even though, this was the first book I read by Linda Barlow but it will be definitely not the last. This is definitely a recommended read :)
