Kendall Ryan is one of my favorite authors and to be honest, probably one of my #1click addictions. And that definitely hasn't changed since I started reading the Forbidden Desires series. And Yes, I was all rooting for Gavin in the first two books simply because I knew that he and Emma belonged together. But that's not to mean that I didn't have a special spot for Cooper. I just always knew that his story and HEA will be something worth waiting for. And I was so right. This story is simply intriguing and so heartbreaking. But ultimately, it is a story of finding your other half and doing everything in your power to be with them.
Cooper and Corinne are two intriguing characters. Both their childhoods weren't a walk in the the park and have left them with some deep scars that continue affecting their lives. But once their eyes meet for the first time, things become complicated and protecting your heart from being broken is no longer an option. They recognize the pain and thirst for escape in each other. But what starts as something completely physical, changes quite fast to a relationship that involves so much more than feelings. The love that develops between the two characters is strong and beautiful. But there are also secrets between the two lovers that can tear them apart.
As a whole I really enjoyed this story. It is definitely hot, it is intriguing and it is definitely heartbreaking. If you've loved the first two books in the series, you will definitely love this one. And the beauty of it is, that it is a standalone. You do get appearances from Gavin and Emma, but if you haven't read the first two books, you still get all the background you need. So yes, definitely a recommended read :) As for me, I can't wait for Quinn's story. That one will be definitely interesting. And I am sure the woman that catches his attention will be a very special one :)
