Writing came relatively later in life for K.L. Shandwick after a challenge by a friend led to The Everything Trilogy. She loves creating new characters and story lines. Her characters have flaws and she hopes this helps the connection between them and her readers. K.L. enjoys the journeys they take her on during the creation of her stories, and each character has his or her own voice. She doesn’t use prepared outlines for her stories preferring the characters to take their own direction as the story progresses. These days K.L. lives in the Yorkshire countryside in the UK, and writes full-time.

My Review

Wow! K L Shandwick has blown me away with this story. It's a roller coaster of a read and keep the tissues nearby as you will feel all the emotions when reading this story. It's a story about going through heartbreak and rebuilding from that. I was truly captivated by Cole and Harper's story and couldn't put it down. This is going to have to go down as one of my top reads of 2019. I urge you to go and one click this book now!

Excerpt

Ally bit down a smile and looked at Nate, who was still hovering in the doorway. “It’s okay. You don’t have to paint my nails. I can probably manage if I bend over enough.” He looked at the bottle Riley had shoved in his hands. “It’s a nice color.” “Riley chose it.” He took a step inside then hesitated, looking over at Ally. “Is it okay if I come in?” he asked. “Of course it is. It’s your house.” “But it’s your room.” His words made her feel warm. As though she finally belonged somewhere. “Come in. It’s nice to have the company.” He walked up to the bed, and looked down at her feet. “Let’s do this thing,” he said, sitting down in the space his daughter had vacated. “I don’t want to incur the wrath of Riley.” “Do you even know how to paint nails?” Ally asked, trying to keep her voice even. It felt so intimate, having him here in the room when she was wearing only a tank and sleep shorts. God only knew how much more intimate it would feel once he touched her. And if he painted her toes, he’d definitely have to touch her. She wasn’t sure how she felt about that.

My Review:

We are back in Angel Falls for the second book in this fab series. I really enjoyed the small town feel in this book as the author makes it feel really intimate, kind of like you are transported there and watching it all happen.
The characters in this book are amazing. I loved Ally for how real she was and although she was strong she was still very vulnerable. Nate comes along with his own baggage and at the start of the story was not very likeable, you do find yourself rooting for him though which took me by surprise.
Ally and Nate's story is full of sweet moments, angst, a little drama and sizzling chemistry. If you want a small town romance or a light, sweet read then pick this up. You will not be disappointed!

My Review:
This was a second chance romance with a difference. It had heaps of heartbreak and angst, with a slight suspense and mystery running through and filled with some sweet moments too.

Well what can you say about the two main protagonists other than the fact that you wanted to bash their heads together at times. Dahlia I kind of got to a point, but Michael annoyed me lots. I got so confused with him because one min I hated him, because at times he seemed really childish, and then the next he said something so sweet it made you melt. They both had to work really hard to get their HEA and it was very sweet when they did. Their chemistry though was instantaneous and smoking!

The story was in two parts, one of which took us out of Hartwell and to Boston, but for me this didn't detract from the story because you kind of needed Dahlia's history to know why she was like the way she was. The second part of the story had us back in Hartwell and had that mystery/suspense element. I was gripped to both parts of the story because I had the feeling that Dahlia had some pretty deep secrets that she was hiding and although it took a while to uncover them, it all made sense when I got there.

Overall this was a good addition to the series and I am looking forward to hearing from new characters in this small town.
