About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

My Review:

The Left Side of Perfect:
So, before getting into my review of the book itself, let me say that though this duet is a standalone, you would enjoy it much more if you read the Blue Line Duet first. So keep that in mind.

When I read the Blue Line Duet, I wasn't sure that I liked where the author went with the story, so I was quite sceptical about this one. But I did decide to read it and definitely don't regret it :) In order to keep this review spoiler free for both this Duet and the previous one, I am going to try to keep the names of the main characters out. I am not sure I will manage but I am going to try :D

As I said, I was a little bit on the fence about this story but I was pulled right into it. The story was just flowing out of the page and though I was kind of surprised by the turn of events, I still enjoyed reading it. I am not going to reveal many details but let me just say that there is a love triangle (no cheating whatsoever) and to be honest, I am not a huge fan of that. And even though most of the story has a lighthearted feeling to it, there are topics woven into the characters' background that will make your heart ache. The ones that really resonated with me were self worth and self image. I suppose similarly to many of you, I've had times in my life struggling with that. It still happens every now and then. So reading about the main female character and her struggles through her whole life, the way she hides behind a mask of carefree attitude, make up and devil-may-care behaviour, really touched my soul.

I don't think there is need to write anything else. For one thing, I don't want to reveal anything from the story but I also don't think there is much more I can say. Though I liked the story, I didn't exactly fall in love with it. I was definitely intrigued to find out what happens next though. In any case, I would recommend checking it out. I think it is worth it.

The Right Side of Forever:
Let me start with this. This is not a standalone. You need to read The Left Side of Perfect before you read this book.

As I mentioned in my review of the first book in the series, I was definitely intrigued by the characters and I was invested into their story. Even if I wasn't a complete fan of the plot of the first part. Well, I can honestly say that I enjoyed this part so much more. For one thing, the story was flowing much faster which really helped but mostly, there was finally something happening between the two main characters (or two I was rooting for :D). There were some plot twists that surprised me in a good way but there was also so much heartbreak. In my opinion, this second part was so much stronger than the first. For me, ultimately it was a story of finding oneself, of believing that though there might be people around who try to break oneself, they will only manage to do that if we allow them. It is a story of finding the beauty inside and around us. And ultimately, it is a story of finding your perfect other half, your true soulmate.

So be prepared. This second part brought tears to my eyes. and though I might not have agreed with the  way the Blue Line Duet went at the time, I think it was actually the right twist as the main character in this Duet are simply meant to be. They are each other's soulmates, their true right side of forever <3 So pick your copy asap :)
