REVIEW:Lover at Last

Título: Amante al fin ( La Hermandad de la Daga Negra #11)
Autor: J.R.Ward
Editorial: NAL

Ahora ... y siempre ".
La visión de Qhuinn se enborronó. Directo al corazón.
"Estoy orgulloso de ti. Y te amo," repitió Blay. "Siempre. Olvídate de tu antigua familia ... me tienes a mí ahora. Yo soy tu familia."
- J. R. Ward, Amante al fin.

Title: Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood #11)

Author: J.R.Ward
Publisher: NAL Hardcover
Synopsis: Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....
Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11)

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one

Opinion: I´ve been waiting for this book for over a year  that I could not wait till its publication in Spanish. So when my sister went to Florida the same week of the book release, I went in  fan-girl mode and asked her to buy it for me. I was so excited to read it that she gave it to me  all I could do was to hug it and I started to jump like a mad around the house, literally.

The truth is that I cannot be very impartial with J.R.Ward books because I LOVE them, but I'll make an effort xD. I had very high expectations about this book because since the moment I started to see a possible relationship between Qhinn and Blay in the firsts books of the series, I  wanted the author to write a book about them.

I have to warn that people who do not like books with male-male relationships or with very explicit sex scenes  not to read this book. On the subject of sex, the author has described their sexual encounters like woman-man, I mean, that after reading several books of gay relationships, in this is clear that Ward was not used to write this kind of relationships.

The story, like all the books in this series, is very fluid and introduces us to new characters that are not very important for the main plot, but certainly some of them will become future protagonists in the following books.

The scenes of Qhuinn and Blay are beautiful, and after all the hype that Ward has created in the series with these two characters, it has resulted in an explosive book filled with delicious sexual tension. I loved to know more about Blay because in previous books  Qhuinn was the one that had  a more leading role . The only thing that did not  convinced me was the end. I felt it  very rushed, but luckily for all Qhuinn and Blay fans in the next books of the series  this sexy vampire couple will reappear.

“You are perfect the way you are." Blay's voice was strong. "There is nothing wrong with who and what you have always been. I'm proud of you. And I love you. Now ... and always."
Qhuinn's vision got wavy. Hard-core.
"I'm proud of you. And I love you," Blay repeated. "Always. Forget about your old family ... you have me now. I am your family.”

Waiting on Wednesday (11)

Waiting On Wedenesday es un evento semanal, organizado por Breaking the Spine, dedicado a los próximos lanzamientos que estamos esperando leer.

El libro que estoy esperando leer es:

Título: Faking It (Losing It#2)
Autor: Cora Cormack
Editorial: William Morrow & Company

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating.
The book that I am waiting is :

Title: Faking It (Losing It#2)
Author: Cora Cormack
Publisher: William Morrow & Company
Expected Publication Date in U.S.A: June 4th 2013

Synopsis: Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

-The synopsis looks really interesting, and  after reading the first book of the series, I want to know what will happen to Cade. I just hope that this one is better than Losing It, which disappointed me a lot.

In My Mailbox (01)

1. Delirium Stories- Lauren Oliver
Tengo este libro desde hace 1 mes, pero todavía no he empezado a leerlo, principalmente porque no quiero que se acabe esta serie, asi que he estado alargándolo todo lo que he podido...
2.Lost Voices- Sarah Porter
3. Shattered Souls- Mary Lindsay
4. Lover at Last- J.R.Ward
5.Clockwork Princess- Cassandra Clare

In My Mailbox (IMM) consists in  uploading a photo with the books you've bought, traded or whatever  books you have but still haven´t read xD for people to see what you intend to read this month. I had long been thinking about making a post about this, but it did not seem productive since books tend to last me one day or two until I read them, or because I read mostly on the computer. But  today my sister has returned home with two books from Florida, so I decided to give it a try.

I will not consider all the books I have on Kindle because for the first time, I have more books than time to read them.
I'll start from top to bottom:

1. Delirium-Lauren Oliver Stories
I have this book for the last  month, but I have not started reading it, mainly because I do not want this series to end, so I've been stretching it all that I could ...
2.Lost Voices-Sarah Porter
3. Shattered Souls-Mary Lindsay
I bought these two books in Amazon  because they had been some time on my list  to read on Goodreads.
4. Lover at Last-J.R.Ward
This book has just arrived with my sister from Florida because I cannot wait long enough for it to come out in spanish.I loved this series, and  from the moment I finished the tenth book almost a year ago I needed to have this book. I'm convinced that I'll love it as J.R.Ward never disappoints.
5.Clockwork Princess- Cassandra Clare
This book also  came straight from Florida. I've been waiting a long time to read it and from the moment it was published I wanted to have it in my hands.

REVIEW: The Sea of Tranquility

Título: The Sea of Tranquility
Autor: Katja Millay
Editorial: Atria Books

-Katja Millay, The Sea of Tranquility

Puntuación: 5/5

Title: The Sea of Tranquility
Author: Katja Millay
Editorial: Atria Books

Synopsis: I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a rich, intense, and brilliantly imagined story about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances.

MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER: Drew, Josh's best friend, is my favorite character. Despite his carefree flirting attitude, who does not care about anyone but him, he is a loyal friend. And he develops through the book.

Opinion: I had the opportunity to read The Sea of Tranquility through NetGalley, so I picked up the book without knowing anything about it, and I must say that from the first paragraph I liked it.

When I finished reading this book, I needed several minutes to return to reality. The story of Nastya and Josh is so incredible that left me hugging the book sighing and with tears in my eyes for having finished the book, for the development of the story and because the author has been able to create a beautiful story and turn it into a book so we can enjoy it like we were in the book.

The narrative is very fluid, the book is told from the point of view of Josh and Nastya. I especially liked that there is more in the book than what is seen at first sight in the synopsis. It is one of those books that what matters is not the end, but how the characters come to it, the story within the story.

The Sea of Tranquility is filled with funny and poignant dialogues, phrases that make you think, and little details that make the story itself wonderful. There is more than what is read at first sight.

“When I look at her now, I think, for just one second, that God doesn't hate me so much after all.”
― Katja Millay, The Sea of Tranquility
