Top Ten Tuesday (03)

Top Ten Tuesday un evento semanal organizado por el blog the Broke and the Bookish.

The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window(Kirsty Moseley)

Heart On a Chain(Cindy C.Bennett)

Nothing Left to Lose (Kirsty Moseley)

Dare You To ( Katie McGarry)

The Sea of Tranquility (Katja Millay)

Sophie &Carter (Chelsea Fine)
Problemas familiares, abandono paterno.

Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly event organized by the blog the Broke and the Bookish.  Top Ten Books Dealing With Tough Subjects (abuse, suicide, grief etc or something personal hard for you)

The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window(Kirsty Moseley)
It's a wonderful book, addresses the issue of sexual abuse and mistreatment. Liam is perfect, it is a must have, if you have not read it, do.

Heart On a Chain(Cindy C.Bennett)
- The main theme is the mistreatment, but there is also bullying, it is a little hard book, but worth reading.

Nothing Left to Lose (Kirsty Moseley)
The beginning of this book, which is not yet published, it is very hard, I cried a lot but it is one of my favorite books. Kirsty Moseley knows how to deal with such issues and also make some amazing books. Kidnapping, rape, murder, abuse.

Silence (Natasha Preston)
Child abuse and sexual abuse. It's a beautiful story and the author knows how to treat this issue from a very deep perspective.

TRUE (Erin McCarthy)
Beatings, abuse. It is treated in a somewhat superficial way, but it's in the atmosphere and in the problems that protagonists go through.

Dare You To ( Katie McGarry)
Violence, drug abuse. The characters are amazing, it's a book about personal growth and family.

Rule (Jay Crownover)
Pain for death, guilt and psychological problems are the basis of this book, but are treated as a shadow that meets on the characters.

The Sea of Tranquility (Katja Millay)
Disappearances, to face the loss of family, violence. This is an extremely nice and deep story. Personal improvement and to leave the fears behind are essential in this book.

Sophie &Carter (Chelsea Fine)
Family problems, parental neglect. The improvement and the help of friends are very important in this book.

Willow (Julia Hoban)
Self abuse, inability to overcome the loss of the family. It is a hard and difficult book because it gets inside the protagonist's head and I found difficult to sympathize with her.

I have just realize that a lot of my favourite books are in this list. And I have just been wondering if I just like to suffer a lot or what?

Will Herondale

With all the papers and exams at Collegue they are not letting me live. So I decided to do a Bad Boy that had something to do with my degree not to feel so guilty, and the first thing that came to mind was William Herondale.

Will is an 18 year-old young Englishman, who is one of the main characters of the Shadowhunters Series: The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. He was born in Wales. He has dark hair and blue eyes. He is a Shadowhunter, Jem Carstairs is his parabatai and he is in love with Tessa Gray. He loves literature, he has a pretty sarcastic mood and he defends with his life whom he loves. He is afraid of ducks.

His carefree attitude, his physique and in general, all about William make him an irresistible Bad Boy.

And here I leave you some pictures of two possible Williams: Joshua Anthony Brand and Douglas Booth.

"You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first dream of my soul, and from that dream I hope will come all other dreams, a lifetime’s worth."- Will Herondale

REVIEW: Angel on The Ropes

Título: Angel on the Ropes
Autor: Jill Shultz
Editorial: Auto-publicado

Title: Angel on the Ropes
Author: Jill Shultz
Editorial: Auto-publicado
Synopsis: An incomparable trapeze artist who lives to fly is about to hit the ground—hard.

Amandine Sand walks a high wire between two lives—hobbled by a life-threatening secret. She’s a "leopard," one of the spotted humans wrongly accused of being a plague carrier. Leopards like her are hunted by zealots to protect their offworld colony from the scourge. Despite this threat, Amandine spends her days guiding other leopards to an underground shelter run by the pacifist Seekers. At night, with her own spots hidden, she takes to the air, the one place this extraordinary artist feels free and gloriously alive.

When the persecution of leopards explodes into widespread violence, the Seekers demand more of her time. But her circus is teetering toward bankruptcy and desperately needs her, too. She has no time to breathe... and then she meets a stranger who leaves her breathless. And might just be the biggest risk of all. If her trust is misplaced and she’s unmasked, everyone she loves—and everything she’s fought for—could crash.

In her darkest hour, Amandine must draw upon everything she’s learned from the circus and Seekers to bring peace to her fractured society. Can a reluctant angel fly beyond her limits to save her life, her love, and her world?

MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER: Nikos is protective, loyal, sexy, he does not care about appearances. He has a successful job, but he do not care about money. He would give his life for Amandine and he was one of the characters that surprised me most.

Opinion: I decided to order this book to NetGalley because I love dystopian books and I had never read any about new species.
During the first chapters I was very lost. I did not know who were the "leopards", or the situation of the new planet and every time a new character came out I tried to find a connection in the story. I was about to stop reading but there came a time when all started to make sense. The author has created a whole new world of nowhere and at the beginning it is difficult to adapt. But once we got to know more of Amandine, her world and all the previously read takes on new meaning.
Amandine is full of surprises, like Nikos. Something I can say with absolute certainty is that this book was full of surprises, in a good way. There are many twists in the story, characters who are not what they seem, intrigue and love. It is a book for adults as it comes to issues such as racism, polygamy and sex in a very open way.
As dystopia surprised me and reminded me a little of Zenn Scarlett because everything happens on a new planet. Amandine´s love story is addictive because the author shows traces of her past mixed with the present. It is an exciting and deep book.
The truth is that I really liked it and it left me with a very good feeling.

Punctuation: 4/5

Fiery Heart Quotes

Every time weget a new excerpt from The Fiery Heart, I fell in love with Adrian again and again. Here you have some:

"I didn´t care about anything except her and the way touching her drove me wild, even as her calm and steady presence soothed the storms that raged within me"
