Jace Wayland

  Hoy es lunes de nuevo, así que ya sabemos lo que toca... ¡un nuevo Bad Boy!

  Esta vez tenemos un personaje literario de una saga que está dando mucho que hablar últimamente, y que seguirá haciéndolo ya que este verano podremos disfrutar de su adaptación cinematográfica. Estamos hablando de Cazadores de Sombras y su protagonista Jace Wayland.

  Jace Wayland es un joven pero experimentado cazador de sombras que desde el principio se nos presenta como un chico arrogante, orgulloso e incluso a veces algo impertinente, pero con un encanto (del que es consciente) con el que consigue atraer y embaucar a la gente de su alrededor.
No es una persona desagradable pero a veces llega a ser demasiado seguro de sí mismo y por esto la mayoría de personajes desarrollan hacia él un constante sentimiento de amor-odio, similar al que sentimos los lectores (aunque creo que en el caso de las lectoras el amor vence al odio la mayor parte del tiempo).
  Se toma muy en serio su ocupación como cazador de sombras, y la disfruta al mismo tiempo, lo que le lleva a tener cierto instinto protector sobre las personas. Así que no todo es malo; se preocupa por la gente más de lo que puede parecer en un principio y a pesar de dar la imagen de chico indiferente e impasible, durante los libros se demuestra que no es siempre así, sobre todo cuando las personas a las que aprecia salen perjudicadas.

  Ya sabemos quién dará vida a este personaje en la gran pantalla; después de muchas especulaciones y de que rondaran muchos nombres por nuestras cabezas (Alex Pettyfer era la apuesta de muchos...) hace varios meses que se desveló que sería Jamie Campbell Bower quién interpretaría el papel. Personalmente me gusta la elección, es bastante acertada, tanto por parecido físico como por la actitud de chico malo que evoca el actor (incluso que demasiada para Jace).

  De todas formas el 23 de agosto podremos juzgar a Jamie Campbell Bower en su papel y, ¡por fin disfrutar de Cazadores de Sombras en los cines!

"No todo, Jace, gira entorno a ti" dijo Clary con furia. "Posiblemente" dijo Jace "pero tienes que admitir que la mayoría de las cosas sí"





  So today it's Monday again and we know what that means... a new Bad Boy!

  This time we bring you a literary character from a saga that is very popular at the moment and will keep like that throughout this year since its film adaptation will be released this summer. We are talking about The Mortal Instruments and its main character, Jace Wayland.

  Jace Wayland is a young but experienced shadowhunter that is presented from the very beginning as an arrogant, conceited and sometimes a little insolent guy with a charm (of which he's really aware) that attracts whoever is around.

  He's not an unpleasant person but he can be too full of himself sometimes, and that's why most characters develop a love-hate feeling towards him. Pretty much like the one us readers develop (maybe with female readers love takes over hate most of the time).


  He takes his occupation as a shadowhunter very seriously and enjoys it so much as well, and this makes him be very protective with people. So not everything about him is bad: he cares about others more than it can seem at first sight. And despite giving this image of a tough and insensitive guy, we see throughout the books that he is not always like that, specially when people he cares about are being harmed.


  We already know who will bring this character to life on the big screen. After many speculations and many names crossing our minds (Alex Pettyfer was many people's bet), some months ago it was discovered that Jamie Campbell Bower would be the one playing the part. I personally like this choice, it is pretty accurate both in physical appearance and in the 'bad boy' attitude the actor evokes (even a bit too strong for Jace maybe).

  Anyway on the 23rd August will be able to judge whether Jamie Campbell Bower does a good job and we will enjoy The Mortal Instruments on theatres at last!
