But when an encounter with the guarded artist shakes him to the core and alters all his future goals, he finds more than just his heart on the line. For Kellus, opening himself to love isn’t an option. All Arik wants is to make the artist his. Can love create a masterpiece when it’s painted on your heart?
I am a HUGE fan of the Kindle Alexander writing
duo and the job they do to bring fantastic M/M reads to the world. I think
every book written by them can be read as a standalone, but the whole reading
experience is best experienced if you have read the previous books. The cameos
of our beloved characters brought me so much joy because it was a thrill being
able to get sneak peeks of the “what happens to the characters after the book
finishes”. Absolutely worth the wait for this story!
The slow build of the plot and of the romantic
interest had me hooked to every line waiting to know how all this slow build
fire was going to turn up. I even read the book on the gym because I literally
couldn´t put it down! One of the things I liked the most was the way they
introduced such a taboo topic like HIV and how people suffering from it and
those who love them have to deal with it daily. I am such an advocate for LGBTQ
rights that this kind of books bring me life and hope for a better future for
every human being out there.
In the character development I am starry-eyed
for both Kellus and Arik *sigh*. I passionately felt in love with each of them
as individuals and later on as a couple. Determined and driven Arik knew from
the very first moment what he wanted, and that was Kellus in his life. They are
perfect for each other, and seeing Kellus fight Arik every step was equally
funny and frustrating. This book had
such an emotional depth that I felt myself gladly drowning on this rich and heartfelt
story.
Painted on my Heart is such an amazing book
that I would absolutely recommend it to every reader out there. Specially for
those that are afraid to jump into the M/M pool because they are really missing
a lot of inspiring and incredible stories.
