My Review:
I don't think I've read anything by Kelly Gendron before but if Jax is any indication of her writing, then I am sure that I would love every single one of her books. This story is quite captivating and intriguing. It is fast paced which helped to keep my interest through the last word. The characters are quite interesting and well developed and at least in my case, they were easy to relate to.
Jax is quite the delicious dominant alpha male who takes what he wants without questions asked. He is protective, romantic and tender when he needs to be, but when in the bedroom, he practices that so delicious control that will leave you panting and melting in his, oh so capable hands (and other body parts :D). Having lived through some rough times as a teenager, he is a little bit reluctant to fully open himself to his perfect match, the girl he was in love with since he was 19. But with some help from her and thanks to the out of this world chemistry between them, he finally gets the one woman he always wanted :)
Em is also quite an interesting character. Having been in love with the same man since she was in high school she returns to her hometown for some summer fun with her best friends and with her mind focused on breaking one Jax Declan. Em is quite fun and I enjoyed reading her banter with Jax and her friends. I loved reading how she finally finds herself and the one true love she craves.Jax and Em are just perfect for each other and I loved getting to know them in this first part of the series. I can't wait to read some more about the other two Declan brothers and especially Slate. I think his story will be heartbreaking and his story with Rayne will be quite interesting. I love the meant to be together stories and Slate and Raine's sounds exactly a story like that :) So I am really anxious to get my hands on the next installment in the series :)
In a few words, I really loved Jax. The story is quite intriguing and I loved the writing style Kelly Gendron has. I will be definitely checking some of her other books and the next part in the Breaking the Declan Brothers Series will be a must for me. I so can't wait for Slate and Rayne's Story :) I hope it comes out soon :)
