Spotlight, Review & Giveaway: Rule Breaker (Break on Trough #1) by Harper Kincaid

Title: Rule Breaker
Series: Break On Trough #1
Author: Harper Kincaid
Publication Date: March 3rd, 2015
Synopsis:

Just one more can’t hurt…right?

Re-belle-ious, free-spirited Lauren Renwick has decided it’s time to trade her wings for roots. That means no more bad boys, no more foolish choices. Yet when she’s stood up on New Year’s Eve, her resolution to stick to her Mama’s Rules for Dating weakens. Especially when she spots sex-in-leather-and-tattoos, Jackson Sullivan.

One look at Lauren, and Jackson is hell-bent on getting her on the back of his Harley and riding straight for his bed. Their night together is an erotic rush that has a new word popping up on his horizon—forever.

Lauren tries to convince herself he’s just one last fling to get bad boys out of her system, yet she finds herself falling hard and fast for a man with a stalker ex and a meddling Irish family. Plus, he has zero chance of passing her uptight parents’ inspection.

Jackson has Lauren’s back, but if she wants all of his heart, she’ll have to meet him halfway—by ditching rules that hold her prisoner, and learning to stand up for what she really wants.

About the Author:

A woman with the heart of a revolutionary,
The mind of a pragmatist,
And the inappropriate humor of your tipsy BFF...

Born in California and raised in South Florida, I've moved around like a gypsy with a bounty on my head ever since. Along the way, I've worked as a community organizer, a professional matchmaker, an art teacher, a popular blogger, and a crisis counselor (to name a few). All the while, longing to have the guts and follow-through to do what I really wanted: to write and become a published author. That wish has finally come true and I am tickled pink with glitter over this good piece of fortune.

What else? Hmm...I love indie, lo-fi, complaint rock played on vinyl, wearing black because it's slimming, the theater, well-informed optimism, happy endings (both kinds),and making those close to me laugh 'til they snort. I'm a self-admitted change junkie, loving new experiences and places, but have now happily settled in the cutest lil' town, Vienna, Virginia. I totally love hearing from readers so stalk me via social media or email me at HarperKincaid26@gmail.com!

My Review:

Rule Breaker is the first book I read by Harper Kincaid and I wasn't sure what to expect but the synopsis sounded fun and I decided to risk it. Well, I can say that it wasn't exactly what I expected but it also wasn't bad. This was a short and fun story with interesting characters and one seriously dominant, tattooed and hot as hell bad boy with a soft spot for Harleys :D

Both Jackson and Lauren were quite interesting characters. Jax is one seriously hot tattooed biker with dark hair and pantie melting blue eyes :) He also has this dominant and protective streak that makes him that much more attractive. One of the things I really liked about him is that he goes after what he wants and he is ready to defend and protect his woman even if it is against her own parents :) That was definitely one of my favorite scenes in the story.

Lauren was definitely an intriguing character. Being an artist, she is quite often misunderstood, even by her parents. They have the best intentions and in their own way they just want her to be happy but the thing they mainly manage to accomplish is make her question her own value. The person who changes that and makes her believe in herself again is Jax. He manages to go through the wals she erected around her heart and shows her what true love is :)

In a few words, the book was good. Not my favorite one but definitely good. I would preferred a little bit more intense story but if you are into sweet romantic stories, with a little bit of spice on top, this book is definitely for you :) Lauren and Jax are quite interesting and intriguing characters and the chemistry between them is simply off the charts. So be ready for a few quite spicy scenes :) In my case, I am waiting for the next book in the series :)

Spotlight & Giveaway: J.S. Scott

Genre: Adult Contemporary Steamy Romance

Down on her luck, nursing student and full-time waitress Kara Foster gets a massive blow to her already desperate financial situation that will surely find her living on the streets. Needing nothing less than a miracle to save her, Kara gets rescue from an unknown, unlikely and overwhelming source. Billionaire Simon Hudson makes her an offer that is impossible to refuse, but terrifying to accept from a man that she's never met. Will the handsome, alpha billionaire really be a solution to her problems, or will he end up being a major complication and a danger to her emotional sanity?

Reclusive billionaire Simon Hudson would rather be behind a computer creating computer games than rubbing elbows with the elite and he knows exactly what he wants...until he meets Kara Foster. Something about Kara touches Simon in ways he's never experienced and definitely doesn't like. For over a year, Simon watches over Kara, but stubbornly re-fuses to admit his desire to possess her, not even to himself. But when she ends up in a situation that could very well be her destruction, Simon steps up to help her, not realizing that in saving Kara, he might very well be salvaging his own soul.

"Mine For Tonight" is book one of "The Billionaire's Obsession" . Books in this trilogy do not stand alone and need to be read in order. They include:

Mine For Tonight - Book 1 "The Billionaire's Obsession"
Mine For Now - Book 2 "The Billionaire's Obsession"
Mine Forever - Book 3 "The Billionaire's Obsession"
and Mine Completely - a Valentine's Day romance featuring Simon and Kara

This is a steamy romance and is not intended for YA readers. It contains steamy love scenes, explicit language and adult emotion not appropriate for YA readers.
