Blog Tour: The Boyfriend Bet

Title: The Boyfriend Bet
Author: Chris Cannon
Synopsis: Zoe Cain knows that Grant Evertide is way out of her league. So naturally, she kisses him. Out of spite. Not only is Grant her brother’s number-one nemesis, but he has zero interest in being tied down to one girl. She’s shocked—and secretly thrilled—when they start spending more time together. Non-exclusively, of course, but that doesn’t mean Zoe can’t change his mind, one PDA and after-school detention at a time. Zoe’s brother claims Grant is trying to make her his “ Ringer,” an oh-so-charming tradition where a popular guy dates a non-popular girl until he hooks up with her, then dumps her. Zoe threatens to neuter Grant with hedge clippers if he's lying but Grant swears he isn’t trying to trick her. Still, that doesn’t mean Grant is the commitment type—even if winning a bet is on the line.
Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains multiple PDAs, after-school detentions, and gambling on the side. Warning: betting on a boyfriend is bad for your health.

My Review:

I really liked this book. I devoured it in a couple of hours and it made me have a great time while reading it. This is the second book I´ve read by Chris Cannon and as always her storytelling is spot-on.

Both characters are peculiar and down to earth at the same time. Though it was a rollercoaster of a read trying to keep in touch with all the up and downs of Grant and Zoe´s relationship, or lack of it. The story of the secondary character was also a nice addition to the plot development.

I suppose that the only thing that let me down on this book was that it was kind of childish but at the same time it is what maked it a believable book because teen nowadays really behave that way.

All in all it was a fun and fast read that will make you have a great time while reading it.

Blog Tour: Blackmail Boyfriend by Chris Cannon

Title: Blackmail Boyfriend
Author: Chris Cannon
Synopsis: Haley Patterson has had a crush on golden boy Bryce Colton for ages. But then when she hears a rumor—Bryce is telling everyone that he hooked up with her. With Haley’s reputation taking a nosedive, she gives Bryce him a choice: be her boyfriend for a month for a month or face the angry, cage-fighting boyfriend of the girl he actually did hook up withto show other guys that she’s dateable—despite her overprotective and very intimidating brothers.—or deal with the angry, cage-fighting boyfriend of the girl he actually did hook up with. Bryce didn’t know the other Haley even had a boyfriend. He was just trying to get his ex off his back. And now doesn't know what's more unbelievable, not only is—that he's he being blackmailed, or that he's being blackmailed by an honor student. His little “hook up” was supposed to end his problems with girls, not create new ones. Not only that, but his new “girlfriend” has two overprotective brothers, three-legged dogs, her father mows grass at the country club, and she's...well, difficult. And different.Besides, everyone knows that perfect boys never fall for imperfect girls...Sometimes, giving in is all a boy can do...Can something so fake turn into something real?

My Review:

After reading so many romance books I was ready to get  into a more lighthearted story. Blackmail Boyfriend was the perfect read for a moment when I needed something fun, well written and interesting while at the same time I kind of had the outcome already in place. This is the good thing about standalone novels beacuse you kind of know that one way or another the main characters are going to get together in the end.

I really enjoyed the story, the characters were superb and the writing catching. It didn´t receive a 5 star not because I didn´t love it, but because it didn´t have the "thing" to become a top pick on my favourite book list.
