My Review:

Whitney Barbetti is an incredible author who can tear your heart out and after that put it back together piece by piece. I've read most of her books so far, and I've loved every single one of them. And I can honestly say that I loved The Weight Of Life. It is slightly different from her other books. The angst is definitely less and I would say that there is no suspense. But that doesn't mean that the story is not heartbreaking in it's own was.

Mila and Ames are two incredible characters. If you've read Whitney's Bleeding Hearts series, then you've already met Mila. And yes, she is not exactly shown in her best light there but trust me, she is so much more than what you would expect and deserves her story to be read. As for Ames, he is a character and BBF who you definitely would want to meet. He is gorgeous, passionate and a little bit broken. Practically, the perfect combination. Both, Mila and Ames have lived through something traumatic. And though in the beginning none of them recognises the pain in the other, step by step they get closer and help each other heal.

In addition to Mila and Ames, I just loved the secondary characters. Lotte and Sam are so intriguing and I have to say that I am dying to read their story (I am hoping Sam will finally get his head out of the gutter and will end up with Lotte :D ). And if you are a fan of the Bleeding Hearts series, you will get a small dose of Jude and Trista :) So worth it ;)

The Weight of Life is not a lighthearted read but it is definitely a book that everyone should read. It is a story of loss and pain, a story of survival and finding happiness again. And it is heartbreaking and endearing in a way that only Whitney Barbetti can write it.

My Review:

Tia Louise is one of my favorite authors and I enjoy Ilsa Madden-Mills' writing. So when I found out they are writing a book together, I was super excited. And when I got my hands on the story, I devoured it in matter of hours. I simply loved it. It is mainly a lighthearted romantic read with some quite funny moments that will make you double with laughter, some super sexy and hot scenes that might leave you hot and bothered and of course just a pinch of heartbreak to make the book even better.

I loved Cade and Rebecca. The chemistry between them is palpable from the very start. And yes, Rebecca is a little bit uptight and stubborn but Cade manages to find a way to her heart without Becks even realising it. And of course there are few bumps on the road but as they say, everything is good when it ends well.

If I have to summarise the book for you, I would say that this is a lighthearted read with a sprinkle of hotness and just a touch of heartbreak. It is intriguing and sometimes funny and for me it is definitely a must read :)

Just inside the door, I put my hand on her arm to halt her exit.

“Dinner?”

“Nope.”

“Lunch tomorrow?”

Brooklynn sighed and turned to walk away, but there was a smile flirting around her mouth.

I grabbed her arm to stop her again, pulled her inside and shoved the door shut. Walking her backward, I crowded her up against a wall. Having caught her by surprise, she didn’t protest when I dove my fingers into her hair and angled her head. I didn’t give her any time for her mind to catch up, covering her mouth with my own. She gasped, and I took advantage of the moment, my tongue entering her mouth to lick and tangle with hers. I groaned at her taste, it was fucking incredible, and I knew I was instantly addicted. Her hands had been at her sides but they slowly crept up over my chest, to hold on to my shoulders as though they were the only thing holding her up.

I combed my fingers through her hair and then they traveled down to splay across her back, pressing her body forward and flush with mine. Fuck, she felt good. My erection was on the brink of exploding, so hard it was almost painful to breathe. I had to stop before I reached a point of no return. I knew I could seduce her right out of her clothes at that moment, but she’d never forgive me. No, we’d fuck when she wanted it with a clear mind. I backed off of the kiss and then slowly withdrew completely. She was dazed and mussed up, looking like she’d just been thoroughly kissed. It was a look I hoped to see on her more often.

I cupped her face and waited until the fog dissipated from her chocolate orbs. “How about I cook you breakfast?” I grinned roguishly and winked.

“Are you kidding me?” she scoffed at my cheesy line.

I just shrugged and grinned. It was worth a shot

My Review:

I am new to Elle Christensen's writing, so I wasn't completely sure what to expect from the book. But the synopsis intrigued me and I was definitely excited to read it. And I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. The story was sweet, romantic, hot, heartbreaking. Ultimately, this is a rockstar story, but it is so different than everything else I've read in this genre.

Levi and Brooklynn are two incredibly characters. Through the author's words, I was able to feel their energy, their passion, excitement and sometimes even pain. Levi is not the typical rockstar. He doesn't change women like underwear and does not get involved with groupies. But that doesn't mean that he is not protective and passionate alpha. He is ready to give everything for the people he loves. To be honest that was kind of a breath of fresh air. It was different and captivating. And I can honestly say that I fell hard for this sexy lead singer.

Brooklynn is also not the typical heroine. She is tough, independent, and also scarred from a past that made her build walls around her heart and not allow anyone to get close. But somehow with his persistence and tenderness, Levi manages to break her defences and conquer her heart. Their path is definitely not easy but their HEA is so worth it.

I really enjoyed reading this book and now I am definitely a fan of the author. And I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the books in the series :)

I am a huge fan of Kendall Ryan´s work. Her books are funny, sexy, sweet and daring. Her writing is magnificent and captivating the same as her characters.

Even though this is my first glimpse into her Roommate series I thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone cause each book features a new couple that for life circumstances end up living together. The whole concept of the series is intriguing and very up to date in our techy world. After reading The House Mate I am undoubtedly going to check out the previous two books. And the covers are absolutely stunning and wickedly sexy.

The whole pace of the narration and the development of the story was fantastic almost till the very end when suddenly everything in the plot started to rush. From that point onward, everything was fast and not very reliable from what the author wanted to show with Max and Addison. That was the only thing that made this book get lower on my rating. But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend it in a heartbeat.
