Another wingmen meets his match and this time it's
scandalous.
Carter Kelso is a man with a plan. And goats.
Ashley Kingston is a woman with a reputation.
Can he earn back her love before their past catches up with
them and destroys everything?
On the island, my last name is synonymous with scandal. With
a notorious father and a famous brother, I've been on the sidelines of our
small town's gossip circle for years. Nothing to see here. Just a man and his
goats, happily going through life. Not a care in the world. Too bad it's all
lies.
I'm tired of trying not to be in love with Ashley Kingston, our very own island jezebel. Some people think she's a slut. They think they know her. They're wrong. Screw them.
Reputations can be deceiving. I should know.

Review
Ok, I have to admit that it took me some time to lose myself in this book.
I read the first book of this series some months ago (maybe years?) and I didn't manage to read all the ones before Small Town Scandal.
So, at first, I was a little confused, I felt like I missed some very important information which were given in the previous books. So, my new goal is to read the books that I still haven't read, and then reread Small Town Scandal.
So, leaving behind this part, I started to really get involved in the story when the book focused on the present.
Carter and Ashley have some past history together, they have known each other for a long time. From the beginning we get to know that Carter is still hung up on Ashley, and wish to win her back.
Both Carter and Ashley didn't have simple lives, they had some big family problems that in part shaped who they are in the present.
Between the two, I connected more with Carter, probably because we get to read the book from his point of view. I really liked his character and his personality, and I followed with a smile on my face his quest for Ashley.
Ashley, well, Ashley is a complex girl, a strong woman that had to endure many difficulties. She is not an easy person, but I liked that she trusted Carter enough to let herself go and try to get her happily ever after.
In general, this book was different, firstly because Daisy's writing style is unique, but I really liked it. This book was funny, ironic, sarcastic, but also deep and thoughtful.
I will for sure read the previous ones in the series to appreciate Small Town Scandal even more.
