Some Sort Of Love cover

Title: Some Sort of Love
Series: Happy Crazy Love #3
Author: Melanie Harlow
Release Date: February 9th, 2016

Synopsis

On the surface, I have it all—a career I adore, a loving family, the Nixon metabolism but not the Nixon ears, and a salary that supports my lavish taste in designer shoes, fine wine, and lacy lingerie…but I have no one to share it with.

Until the day I run into him—my one night stand from college with the cocky smile, let’s-get-out-of-here eyes, and dirty, dirty mouth.
Levi Brooks is six feet four inches of hot bearded fantasy. A sexy single dad with broad shoulders, strong hands, and a fantastically big…heart. (I mean, it’s massive. And generous. And it pumps so hard… um. Sorry. Lost my place.)

But he lives for his son, and he's keeping me at a distance because he thinks I deserve someone better—a man who can give me more time, more attention, more of himself. He doesn’t believe he could ever be enough.

But he's wrong.

He’s everything.

My Review:
I've read the previous two books in the series and I enjoyed them a lot. But I simply loved this one. It was fun, heartbreaking, romantic and HOT. And it is written in such an incredible way that you will never feel how the time flies ;)

I am not sure what it was or whether I can even explain it, but there was just something about the story that talked to me. It could be that I can relate to Jillian as I also put my career as a priority and had to fight for everything I got. Or it could be that I've been haunted by questions like why I am still single and so on. Or it could be just that I am looking for the same type of guy. A stable, responsible guy who at the same time is a god in bed. But whatever it was, I felt like I was living the story myself, like I was a part of every painful or happy moment, or feeling the doubts Jillian had from time to time. Or simply laughing my but off because of all the crazy situation Jillian and Levi ended up in. And all that made this story an amazing read for me.

And of course when you add to that the hotness that is Levi and the sneak peeks from the couple of the previous books in the series, I can honestly say that I went through the book in one sitting. I didn't even feel it. It was like I started reading and at some point around the end of the book, I figured I was reading for quite some time already. And just like that I was reading the epilogue and craving more.

So yes, I loved the book and I am definitely recommending it if you are looking for a great read :) Even though, this is the third book in a series, it could be also read as a stand alone. So if you haven't read the first two books, you can still pick up a copy. And I am sure you won't regret it :)

Excerpt:

Do you know what hope smells like? Let me tell you…

First, I have to explain where I am. At the bottom of my small garden is a gate. A plain wooden gate that needs one hinge fixed. Beyond the gate are a few steps carved into a grassy bank. It’s down those steps that you can reach the beach.

The Atlantic ocean pounds the centuries old cliffs, the rugged shards of black rock snake their way into the sea and the course yellow sand whips around my feet. I breathe in deeply. The smell of exposed seaweed and salty air fill my senses. That is what hope smells likes.

For a long time there had been no hope. I was at the bottom of a well, in the worst place I could be. I couldn’t see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. I felt nothing but sorrow and sadness. And pain, so much pain. It has been a long journey but I need to take you back a couple of years, not quite to the beginning but to a pivotal point in my life. A time when I thought everything was going to be okay, when I thought my life was turning around. A time when I had plans and I believed I had the future I longed for. But I was wrong. It’s only now that I have hope.

And what am I hoping for? A reply to an email I have just sent.

My Review:

OK.  So that wasn't exactly what I expected. I love Tracie Podger and her writing but this story is completely different from all her other books. Don't misunderstand me. The Story is really good, but it doesn't have the same suspenseful and dangerous vibe of the The Fallen Angel Series. A Virtual Affair is a story of heartbreak and pain, of losing and finding hope, of new beginnings and finding the strength to get back up once you've been pushed down.

When I first read the blurb, I wasn't sure what exactly to expect from this story. I am a huge fan of the Fallen Angel series, but I knew that this story will be different. Well, I can honestly say that I wasn't disappointed but I feel obliged to say that it was so heartbreaking that at times it was difficult to read. I loved reading how Jayne learns to stand on her own feet again. It was incredible to see how she builds again her self esteem and confidence after all the years she's been pushed down by the person who was supposed to at least respect her if not love her.

As a whole the story is quite interesting but be prepared to shed few tears. I was missing the suspense a little bit but that's just me, I love a little danger mixed into my books. But in any case that's a recommended read, especially if you are into emotional and heartbreaking stories.

Swoon-worthy Justin Banks is FINALLY HERE in
RoomHate by Penelope Ward!

roomhate cover.jpg

Title: RoomHate
Author: Penelope Ward
Release Date: February 15th, 2016

Synopsis
From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?

Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me.

When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.

The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.

The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.

I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.

The worst part? He didn’t come alone.

I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection.

The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.

Author's note – RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
